 I have been in Sales and Marketing for over 25 years and before that I sold Life Assurance, selling over $100 million dollars of Paid Whole of Life in 2 years for Prudential alone in Sydney Australia. At eh same time I was a top producer for 4 other insurance companies and ran a successful general agency specializing in Business Assurance and a Fire and General Brokerage.
In 1997 I discovered the Internet and it was love at first sight. In 2000 I won the inaugural INMA Holbien Scholarship for Newspaper Marketers with a paper on the future of newspapers in an Internet world. I subsequently started my first online newspaper and sold it 6 months later for a large profit during the tech crash.
I was one of the first Internet marketers to see the advantages of Social Media and have been consulting to companies on how to use it to boost sales and increase brand awareness since 2007.
When I am not working my hobbies are Philosophy specializing in Ancient Chinese philosophy, a subject on which I give lectures including to a number of delegations of Chinese university professors, Chinese educators and administrators. I have been invited to give lectures at Universities in China and have developed a new prospective on Confucian philosophy.
I also love classical music and music from the sixties, History, travelling, going to concerts and opera, reading mainly non fiction and writing. But most of all I love my four kids who are almost finished at university where they all studied some aspect of business so who knows, one day I may even get a life. :-)
In all honesty, I never plan to retire, I love my work and every day on the Internet is a new experience with so many opportunities. I guess I am just too curious to see what's coming next and I love helping my clients get the most out of it. |
